And so it went the entire evening .. . with "visits" to Paris, Shanghai, etc. Willie Stone and Cesi Or- man postponing their wed- ding because she broke her leg on streets of Birmingham . . . It'll take place in November . . . Al and Bev Betz, Lil and Iry Collins, Bar- bara Ostrand, Jack Seedman, Sydell and Doug Schubot, Helen and Norm Wachler, Cindy Ehrlich, John Bloom, etc. At our table for dinner . . . AL BALOOLY, owner of Jacque's, Topinka's and Tollgate at Fairlane in Dear- born, is doing something I can't remember anybody ever doing for a benefit . . . He's donating the entire proceeds from all the food and drinks . . . in other words picking up the complete tab . . . as well as giving the location to boot. He wanted to do something for senior citizens . . . and selected Birmingham Area Seniors Coordinating Council & Center (BASCC) as group to work with on this precedent-setting event. It's the group's first venture . . . Oct. 23, at Jacques Restaurant on Telegraph Rd. . . . called "A Gourmet Gathering" with Executive Chef Bryan Gowlas planning the gourmet dinner . . . with entertainment by Kate Pat- terson and Michael Ziporski. Party begins with 6 p.m. hors d'oeuvres, dinner and entertainment at 7 p.m. . . . It's open to the public .. . limited $75 per person reser- vations (642-1040). Bryan's menu will have hors d'oeuvres of peapods with Liptauer cheese, shrimp springrolls with plum sauce and miniature spinach pies . . . Dinner is fresh pumpkin soup with nutmeg, Jacques' Caesar Salad, petit filet with fluted mushrooms or chicken piccante with artichokes and capers or broiled salmon with fresh dill . . . redskin potatoes parisienne, fresh garden vegetables, bread basket, Jac- ques' cheesecake with apple- bourbon glaze, coffee or tea and red and white wine serv- ed with dinner.
