Fashion Show Feature
Of Bonds Shenkman Fete

A special Israel Bond
Women's Division event, open
to ,both men and women, will
take place Nov. 1, when a
tribute dinner and fashion
show will honor Miriam
Shenkman, a national
recipient-elect of the Golda
Meir 90th Anniversary
Tribute Award, it was an-
nounced by Barbara
Stollman, division chairman.
The dinner, beginning at 6
p.m. at Congregation Shaarey
Zedek, will pay tribute to
Mrs. Shenkman "in recogni-
tion of her distinguished ser-
vice to her community and to
Israel, in the spirit of Golda
Mein"
The fashion show, to follow
the dinner, will be the full-
scale annual show created for
Israel Bonds by the Israel
Company for Fairs and Ex-
hibitions in cooperation with
the Fashion Center of the
Israel Export Institute of Tel
Aviv, and will feature haute
counture and ready-to-wear
by the leaders of Israel's ap-
parel industry.
Represented will be one-of-
a-kind designs by Gideon
Oberson, Tamara Jones and
Oded Gera and hand-knitted
sweaters by Sara Miller. Gera
will also be represented by his
ready-to-wear along with that
of Gabi Model, Gali Sport,
Helen Knits, Niba, Tadmor
Leather and Nilly Tvig. A col-
lection of designer men's
fashions from Kosin's Clothes
Inc., who are also taking a

major role in the production
of the show, will be presented.
Admission to the event will
be by a minimum purhcase of
State of Israel Securities in
1988, plus a dinner couvert.

Glennwood Sets
Dinner Date

Glennwood Chapter, Wo-
men's American ORT, will
hold its paid-up membership
dinner to celebrate the open-
ing of the Braude Interna-
tional Institute in Israel at
the Franklin Pointe club
house on Wednesday at 7 p.m.
A demonstration on "How
to Wear Multiples" will be
given by Daphne Fenster. For

Book Review

The public is invited to join
Huntington Hill Chapter,
Women's American ORT, at
7:30 p.m., Oct. 26 to hear a
review of current books and
shop at the Book Beat. (The
Book Beat is located on
Greenfield just north of Lin-
coln at Lincoln Center, Oak
Park.)
The book review will begin
at 8 p.m. Customers may
write their checks to ORT
following the book review and
through Oct. 30.
