With the proceeds from this year's fund-raiser I.C.A. plans to purchase a gamma camera for the Beilinson Hospital in Tel Aviv. A gamma camera is used for cancer detection in the nuclear medicine depart- ment. The cost for this machine is. $200,000. The Detroit Chapter of I.C.A. has already contributed cancer detection machines for Ichilov Hospital and Tel Hashomer Hosptial; two hospital rooms for Beilinson Encology Hospital in Petach Tikvah and two rooms at Rambam Oncology Hospital in Haifa; a lung cancer detec- tion machine, a fluoroscope, a laser beam machine and $2,000 for toys for children in cancer hospitals in Israel. This year's honoree is Ann Eisenberg, current president and founder of the local I.C.A. chapter. The guest speaker is Rabbi M. Robert Syme of Temple Israel. Agi Rubin is the chairman. Co-chairman is Judit Grinbaum. There will be dancing to the music of the Jerry Fenby Band. Bonds Parley In Southfield A national Israel Bond cam- paign cabinet officers and members conference will be held at the Embassy Suites Hotel, Southfield, Oct. 26-27. Convening to finalize cam- paign projects for the balance of the year and lay the groundwork for the 1989 cam- paign, the conference will be led by Detroiter David B. Hermelin, international cam- paign chairman; William Belzberg of Los Angeles, North American chairman; Sy Syms of New York, na- tional chairman; and Julian B. Venezky of Peoria, Ill., chairman of the board. During the conference, the delegates will also share in a special local event: the gavel- passing of the Metro Detroit Israel Bonds general chair- manship from the outgoing chairman, Douglas A. Schuot, to the incoming chairman, Jerome Soble.
