Michele Cherney and Larry
Maloff were married recently
at Temple Israel. Rabbi M.
Robert Syme and Cantor
Harold Orbach officiated.
Michelle is the daughter of
Geri Cherney and the late
Allen Cherney. Parents of the
bridegroom are Florence and
Leon Maloff.
The matron of honor was
Sherry Kauffman, sister of
the bride. Bridesmaids were
Linda Bender, Lisa Kaplan,
Elissa Marcus, Larissa Shain.
Flower girl was Stephanie
Renee Kauffman, niece of the
bride.
The best man was Howard
Maloff, brother of the bride-
groom. Ushers were Warren
Abrahams, Gregg Adelman,
Marvin Kauffman, Sherman
Laxer. Ring bearer was Shane
Kauffman Mally.
Also participating in the
ceremony was the bride-
groom's grandmother, Isa-
belle Unrot, who was escorted
down the aisle by Howard
Maloff. Michele also is the
granddaughter of Kay
Saperstein.
Following a honeymoon in
Hawaii, the couple will reside
in Southfield.

Machon ETorah, the Jewish
Learning Network of
Michigan, announces that on
Oct. 16 at 10:30 a.m. there
will be a dedication for the
Abe and Mary Bookstein
Memorial Playground.
Mr. and Mrs. Bookstein
were active in several chari-
ty organizations. Mrs. Books-
tein was a founding member
and past president and vice
president of Women's Bicur
Cholem. They both worked
with the mentally ill and
retarded people and helped to
start and work at the gift
shop at Northville State
Hospital.
The playground was
donated by the family and
friends of Mr. and Mrs. Books-
tein and will be available to
the children of families at-
tending synagogue services.
