The event, beginning with a cocktail reception at 5:30 p.m., will see Borman pre- sented with the State of Israel's 40th Anniversary Silver Medal. In civic affairs, Borman's directorships include: United Foundation, Detroit Sym- phony Orchestra, Detroit Economic Growth Corp., Food Marketing Institute,. First Federal Savings and Loan Association of Michigan and the University of Detroit. He also served on the board of the International Association of Chain Stores, is vice chair- man of the Michigan Thanks- giving Day Parade Founda- tion and is a founding member of New Detroit. He also is a long-time sup- porter of the Jewish Home for Aged, for which he served as president and is a member of its board, the Salvation Army, the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Edison Institute, Henry Ford Museum and Greenfield Village, Michigan State Uni- versity and the University of Michigan.
