Luby, a retired Detroit Public School ad- ministrator, has been ap- pointed associate director of development for special pro- jects at Interlochen Center for the Arts. A long-time associate of In- terlochen, Luby has been the official camp host of the na- tional music camp, and in- Dr. Robert R. Luby structor of physical and health education and coor- dinator of intramural and evening recreation at In- terlochen Arts Academy since his retirement in 1983 as divisional director of health, physical education and in- terscholastic athletics for the Detroit Public School System. Luby's association with In- terlochen began in 1957 when he served as waterfront director for the high school boys division of the national music camp, subsequently directing that division from 1958 to 1962. Luby has taught at Wayne State University, Mercy Col- lege, and the University of Detroit, and was principal at Alger, Columbian, Duffield, Brownson and Chrysler Elementary Schools in Detroit. He has been published in several publications.
