This agency provides opportunities for
recreation and education in a Jewish atmo-
sphere. Operations include the Tamarack
Camps in Brighton and Ortonville, out-
post sites, a teen trip to Israel, programs
for exceptional children and a Hebrew-
speaking village, as well as adult and
family camping.

Council works with 270 member organize
tions on community relations issues and'
matters of common concern. It arrangesd
activities with Jewish and non-Jewish
groups, produces programs of Jewish con
tent and provides a mediation and arbitra
tion service. A Council committee co-
ordinates Soviet Jewry programming.

Through HFLA, non-interest loans are
available to persons unable to secure com-
mercial bank loans. Funds may go to
students needing tuition money, persons
with small business needs and others who
require personal financial assistance.
Hebrew Free Loan administers the home-
buyer loan program of Federation's Neigh-
borhood Project.

All ages are involved in leisure-time, cul-
tural, educational and recreational activi-
ties. Programs include year-round child
care for pre-schoolers, summer day camp,
courses for all ages including senior adults,
men's and women's health clubs and an
annual Jewish Book Fair.

For those who require assistance in plan-
ning careers, finding suitable employment
and adjusting to jobs, help is available
through JVS. College educational and
financial planning and displaced home-
maker classes are available. Work-
shops provide vocational rehabilitation
services to the elderly and handicapped.

JFS offers professional counseling to in-
dividuals and families, and assistance to
the aged. Services include child place-
ment, volunteer aides, Meals on Wheels
(in cooperation with National Council of
Jewish Women), respite care and help for d
