Now, you probably know that sensible eating habits, enough rest and good living conditions are necessary to health and hap- piness. But is part of the health formula being left out because of something people do not know? There are too many who do not realize that the nerves in the spinal column mean life and death, sickness and health. ;02-4 It is not romantic to think about; yet good nerve condition is just as necessary as food, water and shelter to our lives. The relief of headache through the use of deadening drugs is a temporary measure. The cause of most headache, including migraine, has been demonstrated as a nerve pressure problem in countless cases. In these cases, the unique hollow bones of the spinal "column have been found to be out of place, and the nerves within their pro- DR. LEVINE tective centers have been pinched and the brain signals "ache" in protest. As you can imagine, people who suffer migraine and go to a Chiropractor, in effect, want to have the misalignments of their spine corrected . . . they want the nerve pressure relieved by having the bones put back in place. We believe that's pretty sensible. It's a pity more who suf- fer from the plague of migraine don't seek a Chiropractic answer. And maybe one of the important things to remember is that you have to seek it . . . it will not reach out and haul you into the Chiropractor's door. If you suffer from migraine . . . or if you experience recur- ring headaches . . . do what so many others have done: see a Chiropractor. Find out if yours is a Chiropractic case. Levine Jews Help After Gilbert New York (JTA) — Jewish relief organizations have step- ped in to collect funds for areas devastated by Hur- ricane Gilbert and for Bangladesh, which has been ravaged by flooding. But unlike CARE, UNICEF and other major relief organizations which can mobilize massive and im- mediate relief efforts, the smaller Jewish organizations have taken a more deliberate approach in assessing the long-term needs of countries struck by natural disasters. The Boston-based Ameri- can Jewish World Service has raised more than $18,000 on behalf of Bangladesh, where flooding that began late last month killed more than 500 and dislocated hundreds of thousands. At one point, near- ly 100 percent of the farmland in some regions lay beneath the waters of the swollen rivers of southern Asia. The AJWS also will focus on reconstruction programs in Jamaica, where Hurricane Gilbert left 500,000 homeless, and in Mexico, where the destruction was even worse. Scholarship Lets Israeli Arabs Study In U.S. Tel Aviv (JTA) — The Amer- ican embassy in Tel Aviv has announced a special scholar- ship program for Israeli Arabs to study in America. A limited number of schol- arships will be available to Israeli Arabs for graduate study in the United States in social sciences, health, physi- cal and biological sciences, agriculture, education, psy- chology, mathematics and engineering. The recipients, who will be selected on the basis of aca- demic excellence, will be pro- vided funds for up to two years of study beginning in September 1989. The $750,000 program is funded by the U.S. govern- ment under a- congressional bill sponsored by represen- tative Lee Hamilton, chair- man of the Foreign Affairs Committee. The program will be admin- istered by the U.S.-Israel Educational Foundation and the scholarships will cover the costs of tuition, maintenance, and travel to and from the United States. A number of other scholar- ship programs are available for Israelis in general. ( r. r•--
