Driker served as president

For more than 30 years
Alpert spearheaded the fund-
raising and public relations
campaigns of the Technion.
He also is an internationally
syndicated columnist whose
reports on Israel are read
weekly by more than a
million people in every major
American city and in eight
countries overseas.
He is a past national presi-
dent of Young Judaea, served
as managing editor of the
Jewish Advocate in Boston
and was chosen in 1940 to
become managing editor of
New Palestine, the official
organ of the ZOA.
Recently, Alpert retired as
executive vice chairman of
the international board of
governors of the Technion.
His latest book is a
400-page history of the
Technion.
