But everything I've done in my mature life — raising a fami- ly, serving in the army, work- ing with the kibbutz dairy herd, excavating the past and creating a new national park — has happened here, hap- pened in Hebrew. So it is on- ly natural for me to speak of what I love, to those I love, in Hebrew as well." Immiwn'i NEWS 1'1'1 Students Win Schary Awards New York — Two California students took top honors in the Anti-Defamation League's 1988 Dore Schary Awards for Human Relations Film and Video Productions. Beverly N. Fray of the University of Southern California took first place in the film category for The Long Walk Home, a drama about the impact of the Mon- tgomery, Ala., bus boycott in 1955 on a black family and a white family. Rheyna Halpern, a student at the California Institute of the Arts, won first place in the video category with "Language Says It All," a documentary which explores how deaf children com- municate with their families and society. Halpern and Fray earned $1,000 awards.
