Israel, the Israelis will no
doubt confirm that it was
Nixon's prompt, massive sup-
port that saved Israel from
collapse during the Yom Kip-
pur War. The Israelis will also
tell us that Carter was forced
into direct negotiations by
Sadat, and that Carter sided
with Sadat's uncompromising
demands that resembled
more a surrender than a
negotiated peace. No one
questions Reagan's genuine
friendship for Israel .. .

Pollard Articles
Called One-Sided
'lb the best of my recollec-
tion, The Jewish News has
run at least four major ar-
ticles regarding the Jonathan
Pollard case and in every in-
stance the thread weaving
throughout was the concern
for the accused. Here we have
an admitted spy, a former
trusted member of the
military service who turned
mercenary and sold secret
U.S. documents to a foreign
power and stuffed the money
into his own pockets.
Your articles on this case
have conveyed to me that
because he is Jewish and that
he sold these secret
documents to the Jewish
State and confessed to all of
this that we should now show
compassion for him.
The Jewish community
here in the United States
should be enraged that
Jonathan Pollard has brought
this kind of disgrace upon our
Jewish people, a religious
group that is proud of its
citizenship, that are loyal to
their country and want to
serve this most democratic
nation in the world with
honor and dignity.
There must be millions of
Jewish people in our country
today and generations who
have preceded them who toil-
ed long hours at their work so
that they could bring up
families and teach them

respect for country and devo-
tion to their religion. And one
of their Ten Commandments
states, "Thou Shalt Not
Steal!'
The Jewish community
owes Pollard nothing for this
treacherous act but contempt,
anger and frustration. Yet
your publication has
repeatedly bemoaned the fact
that the Pollards were not
given a fair trial, that their
punishment is more severe
than the - Walkers received,
that Pollard was interrogatd
unfairly during his confine-
ment, that both Pollard and
his wife are not receiving pro-
per medical treatment, etc .. .
And Pollard is not alone in
his disgrace. The State of
Israel, too, committed a
shameful act by recruiting a
member of the U.S. military
service to spy for them. Here
the State of Israel receives
more financial support from
the U.S. government than any
other country in the world
(and similar amounts go to
Egypt) and she proceeds to
bite the hand that feeds her

Your most recent article
about the Pollard case, in the
Aug. 26 issue and written by
Emanuel Winston, is replete
with distortions and Winston
very conveniently leaves out
important ‘aspects of this case
as they are detrimental to
Pollard. Winston makes no
mention that Pollard was in
a position of trust in the U.S.
Naval service and that he
betrayed his trust, that he
took money (I believe
$150,000) for his espionage
work.
Your publication is in a
position to influence the
thinking of a great number of
your readers. I could only con-
clude from the many articles
regarding this case that you
feel that Pollard's act of spy-
ing and selling secrets to the
State of Israel and was not
that serious a matter . . . You
are giving support and com-
fort to the wrong side.

Milgrom Family
Is Sought
I am trying to locate the
Milgrom family who lived in
Detroit or vicinity.
In 1949, my mther received
an announcement from Dr.
Sidney Milgrom. The
envelope included photos of
him and his family. I'm sure
family members would like to
have these photographs. I will
be very happy to forward
them. They can write me at
my address:
