We'll find an answer to the question: "What was Jewish music like during the time of Mozart and Beethoven?" We'll take an intriguing look at the music of Ernest Bloch and Leonard Bernstein, and of Israeli T9 Unlocking the mysteries of Sacred Art Rabbi Yosef Lange The mysteries and treasures of Jewish sacred art will be uncovered and unlocked in this five part series, taught by Rabbi Yosef Lange, a local scribe. This "up-close" experience will focus upon Mezuzah, Ketubah, Get, Sefer Torah, T'fillin, and Mizrach. This series promises to be a memorable one that will add a whole new dimension to Jewish life cycle events. T10 Styles of Jewish Living & Education In conjunction with the American Jewish Committee Lauren Liss and Harold Berry are co-chairs of this special 4-part series of expanded workshops on the inter-group dynamics of Jewish living and learning. Each workshop will have a predominant interpretation by the presentor of one stream of Jewish life (Rabbi Alon Tolwin, Orthodox; Rabbi Elliot Pachter, Conservative; Rabbi Daneel Schwartz, Reform; Jules Harwood, Secular/ Humanist). T11 Hebrew language CRASH COURSE* This how-to course will run 5 weeks and will teach the basics to participants to prepare for their journey to Hebrew reading literacy. T12 Jewish Family Blueprint: From Parenting to Practice Harlene Appelman This five part series will explore how to enrich family celebrations as well as daily living experi- ences in a Jewish light. Participants will come away with an approach to using community resources to strengthen their families. The series will include a look at current books, videotapes, games and toys to enhance Jewish family living. Ms Appelman is the coordinator of the J.E.F.F. (Jewish Experiences for Families) project co- sponsored by the Jewish Community Center, Fresh Air Society, and United Hebrew Schools. T13 Dilemmas we have encountered Rabbi Harold Loss Rabbi David Nelson Rabbis Loss and Nelson discuss dilemmas that many of us face in our daily lives as Jews. They will share some of the most outstanding dilemmas from their long careers as pulpit Rabbis in the met- ropolitan Detroit area. This one-time program will be held Tuesday night, October 25.
