DSO Friends
H Holds Meeting

The Friends of the Detroit
Symphony Orchestra will
hold its first annual meeting
at 7:30 p.m. Monday at the
Somerset Inn in Troy.
Robert Stevens Miller Jr.,
chairman of the board of the
DSO, will speak on the pre-
sent situation and future
hopes for and goals of the or-
chestra. The first public show-
ing of a videotape produced by
the friends of the DSO also
will be presented. The video
recalls the history of the or-
chestra as told by former DSO
pianist Mischa Kottler and
orchestra members violinist
Felix Resnick and principal
percussionist Robert
Pangborn.
The meeting is open to the
public, and there is no charge.

W. Bloomfield
Has Bonfire

West Bloomfield's bon-
fire/hayride is scheduled for
Sept. 25 at 5:30 p.m. at
Marshbank Park. The park is
located on Hiller Road just
north of Commerce Road in
West Bloomfield Township.
All activities are offered at no
charge except for a nomimal
charge for refreshments and
pony rides. There is no charge
to enter the park.

Wine's Topic

Sherwin Wine will speak on
"Trouble in Burma: The Long
Delayed Revolution," Thurs-
day at 10 a.m. in the
