Lunch And Learn Features Ozery Adat Shalom Synagogue will hold the first of four lunch and learn sessions for the upcoming year beginning at 11:45 a.m. Sept. 28. Yefet Ozery, director of the Israel Program Center will present a discussion on the Yemenite community of Israel. Ozery will present a short film and discuss the integra- tion of Yemenite Jews into Israeli society. Lunch and learn programs are organized by the synagogue's adult study com- mission. Beth El Names Associate Rabbi Rabbi Julian I Cook recent- ly was named associate rabbi of Temple Beth El. Rabbi Cook, 44, has been serving for the past 11 years as associate rabbi for educa- tion and youth at Thmple Sinai in North Miami Beach. He was ordained in 1972 at Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati. A native of Ann Arbor, Rabbi Cook was graduated from the Universi- ty of Michigan and served as director of Union of American Hebrew Congregation camp institutes at Zionsville, Ind., and as director of youth ac- tivities for the Midwest region of the UAHC. He is working on his doc- toral dissertation on the history of the Reform Jewish day school movement.
