Ark Cover
Dedicated

The senior adult depart-
ment of the Jimmy Prentis
Morris Building of the Jewish
Community Center of Metro-
politan Detroit will have a
dedication ceremony for its
new High Holiday ark cover,
new Shabbat tablecloth and
wall hanging at 12:30 p.m. to-
day in Jaffe Hall. The cover
was creted and donated by
Helga Plonskier. The table-
cloth and wall hanging were
created by and given as a gift
from Betty Order. The
ceremony will be followed by
an Erev Shabbat program,
conducted by Cantor Max
Shimansky.
Sol Granadier and the Yid-
dish Reading Circle will meet
for 90 minutes of stimulating
discussion. This group meets
every Friday at 10:30 a.m. in
Room 4.
High Holiday services will
be conducted by Rabbi Allan
Blustein and Cantor Joseph
Lewis. They will be assisted
by Morris Tugman and Ber-
nard Luchtan. For ticket in-
formation and services
schedule, call the JPM
Building, 967-4030.
Super Senior Fitness with
Ada Bandalene will
reconvene on Wednesday at
11 a.m. in the JPM gym. The
class meets regularly on Mon-
day, Wednesday and Friday at
11 a.m.
The Book Fair video, "The
Tale of the Ring: A Kaddish,"
with Frank Stiffel will be
shown in the atrium at 10
a.m. on Thursday.
The Press Review with Abe
Gornein will meet in room 4
of the JPM at 12:30 p.m. on
Thursday.

Training Course
For Seniors

"Growing Older Bolder," a
seminar on assertiveness
training course for older
adults 55 and over will be
presented by the Oakland
University Continuum at the
Oak Park Community Center
on Tuesdays at 1 p.m. starting
Oct. 4. There is no fee for the
class. Ike-registration is need-
ed and can be arranged by
calling the community center,
541-0900, mornings.
