Women Of JNF To Hear Singer At Opening Mrs. Joseph M. Markel, president of the Women of Jewish National Fund, in- vites the community to the opening meeting of the women's organization on Wednesday at noon at Temple Emanu-El. Anne Mondrow wil deliver the invocation. Shirley Kraft, vice president of fund-raising, will announce the women's latest fund-raising campaign. Bess Axelrod, program chairman, announces that She is a soloist with the Music Study Choral Group and the Rose Morgan Chorale. As a child, she ap- peared on the Yiddish stage in New York and sang on the radio. Later, she worked as an entertainer in the Catskill Mountains, sang at Orchestra Hall in Chicago and at the In- stitute of Arts in Cleveland. The National Council of Jewish Women, Greater Detroit Section, will hold a two-day CASA training ses- sion for persons interested in working in its Court- Appointed Special Advocates Legal Guardianship Program. The sessions will take place at 9:30 a.m. Thursday and Sept. 9. Thursday's meeting will take place at the N.C.JW offices in Southfield, and the Sept. 9 training session will be held at the Oakland Coun- ty Courthouse. The program is open to the public. CASA began its Legal Guardianship Program three years ago to do home studies and investigate legal guar- dianship cases for the Oakland County Probate Court. CASAs advocate for the child and testify in court
