ake your pick . . . a
very hot and humid
day . . . or rain . . . If
Randy Marcuson and Cally
Kasapis had their choice, it
would have been the latter
. . . and since tis said that
wishes sometimes come true
on wedding days, Mother
Nature cooperated by holding
off the rains until later in the
day.
Tents were up in the large
back yard of Cally's parents,
Jane and Gus Kasapis, for the
ceremony and reception .. .
Folks with fans tried to swirl
some air . . . Simone Vitale
Band with his wife Jeanne on
vocals were very good as
usual . . . And Jack Mar-
cuson's twirled mustache
managed not to wilt . . . Like
Jane and Gus, Vicky and
Jack, Randy's mom and dad,
are a very fine couple.
Entire decor was black and
white . . . even waitresses and
bartenders of Gourmet House
caterer Sam LaFata, wore tux
shirts and black bowties .. .
with chefs at various stations
wearing white coats and
white hats.
The waiters and waitresses
passed spinach puffs with feta
cheese, caviar on potato slice
and jumbo shrimp . . . Follow-
ing the 2 p.m. ceremony were
chefs carving and serving
prime rib and breast of
chicken, poached salmon,
lightly breaded shrimp scam-
pi and vegetable stir-fry .. .
So much food . . . pasta
primavera with Oriental
vegetables, artichoke bot-
toms, Greek olives, stuffed
grape leaves, tabbuli, kibbee,
pita bread, olive oil and
lemons, fresh fruits, brie
cheese (amaretto and walnut)
and wedding cake, of course.
The entire affair was very
well organized and Cally
never looked more beautiful
. . . nor Randy handsomer .. .
Truly a charming young
couple.
CONGRATS . . . to Terry
and Barrister Steve Bock .. .
on their fourth anniversary.
TEENAGE ENTER-
PRISE for charity . . . as
14-year-old Jeff Lazar, son of
Sema and Alton Lazar, holds
a backyard carnival to raise
money for Muscular
Dystrophy research and cure
. . . Helped by friends, Jeff's
funfest is Sept. 4, noon to 4
p.m. at the Lazar home, 26121
Harding, Oak Park . . . with
d.j. for dancing, swimming,
prizes in games like tic-tac-
toe, fish pond, roulette wheel,
jumbo barrel toss, etc. . . . plus
a penny auction . . . Admis-
sion charge is 25 cents .. .
Let's give a big hand to young
Jeff Lazar.
ORGANIZATIONS take
note . . . Don't be foolish .. .
Jewish Community Council's
calendar of events is a great
advantage . . . Kind of silly
for groups to have affairs on
same dates, conflicting with
others.
BILL WOLFE, bossman at
Newton Furniture, came
home, the electricity was out
. . . no air conditioning, so
went to cool off at a theater
. . . Bill came home nice and
refreshed . . . discovered air
conditioning still not working
. . . so went to another theater <
. . . Third one in the same
evening wasn't necessary .. .
but Bill heartily thanks
theater oVv-ners for being on
hand when needed . . .
Besides, says Bill, he saw a
couple of good pictures.
FOURTH ANNUAL Fred

Outing is this Monday at

cancer research lecture .. .

Rogers, 581-2611, during
business hours.
CONGRATS . . . to Lou
Warshaw . . . on his birthday
. . . to Adrian Williams . . . on
her birthday.
HERE'S A not-waiting-for-

prevention . . . It's by Califor-
nia based Project Pride infor-
mation and educational
group . . . First was yesterday

dlebelt . . . Call Julie Traub,
258-6040.

"Fayorite Stories . by State
Sen. Daniel Cooper . . . Dur-
ing the first intermission of
an outdoor performance of
Othello, Sir Laurence Olivier
was stopped at the door to his
portable dressing room by a
distressed lady who wanted
directions to the nearest bus
. . . 'But why,' asked Sir
Laurence, 'aren't you staying
for the remainder of the per-
formance?' . . . 'Frankly,' ex-
plained the lady, 'I saw it
years ago in Brooklyn in Yid-

what it loses in translation: "
