been appointed executive
director of Congregation
B'nai David. A native of
Detroit, Goldman has been
residing in Deerfield Beach,
Fla., for the past several
years.
Goldman holds a bachelor's
degree from the University
Notre Dame Professor Mor-
ris Pollard will be the guest
speaker at Congregation
B'nai Moshe prior to Selichot
service, 9:30 p.m. Sept. 3. Dr.
Pollard is the father of
Jonathan Pollard, who was
sentenced to life imprison-
ment for sharing U.S.
military secrets with Israel.
Dr. Pollard will speak on
the "Pollard Affair" from per-
sonal and Jewish perspec-
tives. The program is open to
the public at no charge.
Dr. Pollard's talk will be
followed by refreshments.
Selichot services will begin at
1:30 p.m. Rabbi Allan
Meyerowitz will officiate.
Cantor Louis Klein and the
B'nai Moshe Men's Choir will
sing the liturgy.

Series Offered
The Bais Chabad Torah
Center will offer the lecture
series, "The Holidays: A Prac-
tical, Technical, Kabbalistic
View" beginning 8:15 p.m.
Monday and continuing each
Monday through Sept. 19.
Rabbi Elimelech Silberberg
will deliver th lectures at the
Torah Center, 559 W. Maple.
The sessions will cover the
technical aspects of the Yom
'Thy Machzor, shofar blowing,
teshuvah, sukkah building
and maintenance as well as
Chasidic and Kabbalistic in-
sights on Yom Tov
observances.
