R. Waterstone
Rose E. Waterstone, a
charter member of the Jewish
Community Center, died Aug.
19 at age 88.
Born in Steubenville, Ohio,
Mrs. Waterstone was a
charter member of Hadassah,
Women's American ORT,
Pioneer Women, Congrega-
tion Shaarey Zedek, the Na-
tional Jewish Hospital/Na-
tional Asthma Center in
Denver, Cystic Fibrosis Foun-
dation. She was formerly a
member of Knollwood Coun-
try Club.
Mrs. Waterstone was a
graduate of the University of
Toledo.
She leaves a son, Norman
Greene; a daughter, Fayanne
Kaufman; two sisters, Nadine
Lipton and Betty Kaplan; five
grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.
G. Weinberg
Gertrude Weinberg, a co-
founder of the Music Study
Club of Metropolitan Detroit,
died Aug. 17 at age 87.
Born in Russia, Mrs.
Weinberg lived 65 years in
Detroit. She was a life
member of the National
Council of Jewish Women and
helped start the Detroit
Chapter of Women's
American ORT. She was a
charter member of the
sisterhood and former board
member of Temple Israel.
Mrs. Weinberg also was a
member of the Detroit
Women's Symphony Society.
In the Music Study Club,
she was a former officer and
in charge of the annual con-
certs and scholarship
program.
She leaves a daughter, Mrs.
Irving (Shirley) Steinberg; a
brother, Prof. Henry Mann of
Kenosha, Wis.; and three
grandchildren.
Mitchell Feldman
Mitchell Feldman, owner of
several parking lots in
Detroit, died Aug. 22.
Born in Bridgeport, Conn.,
Mr. Feldman was graduated
from the University of
Michigan Law School. He was
vice president of Congrega-
tion B'nai Moshe, president of
the Michigan Parking
Association, a board member
of United Hebrew Schools, a
member of the Hebrew Free
Loan Association and was af-
filiated with the Jewish
Welfare Federation.
He is survived by his wife,
Helen; two sons, Joel and Dr.
Alan; a sister, Mrs. Julius
(Sylvia) Pollak; and four
grandchildren.
