they're good, then OK. Sure,
I feel negatively about Arabs
and am not embarrassed to

sein's decision in 1967 to
wage war against Israel was
ill-advised and losing Judea
and Samaria were the costs of
defeat.

that we didn't start the war,"
he said. "If the Arabs were,
stupid enough to start it, and
then lose, it (the land) should
not be given back. The reason
there are two Germanys is
because they lost and they
had to be held responsible.
The Arabs want us to be
responsible for a war they
started!'
The most recent pro-
nouncements by King Hus-
sein regarding his severing of
ties with the West Bank are
viewed positively by most at
Thkoa, since it removes a
claim they feel was il-
legitimate anyway. However,
the possibility of Israel
trading land for the prospect
of peace — whether with Jor-
dan or an assemblage of
Palestinians — is troubling to
Lando, who is looking for

Thkoa to triple its size in the
coming years.
"After the trauma of Yamit
(a town in Sinai that was
dismantled as part of the
peace treaty with Egypt),
what areyou going to tell
80,000 people (in Judea and
Samaria) who will have to
live their lives all over again?
What will happen to my fami-
ly?" he asked. "The
psychological trauma would
be devastating!'
Despite a desire to stay at
any cost, Lando said that
realities would compel the
settlers to leave.
"Even if we wanted to stay,
they never would let us live
here," he said. "We go on the
roads today and we get ston-
ed!' ■
