Sidney Silverman, a na-
tional vice president of the
Zionist Organization of
America and former presi-
dent of Metro Detroit ZOA,
was elected associate chair-
man of ZOA's administrative
board, the organization's top
governing body, at the recent
national convention in
Jerusalem.
Honorary vice presidents
are: Philip Slomovitz, Dr.
Sidney Z. Leib, Louis Panush
and Mrs. I. Walter Silver.
Named to the national ex-
ecutive committee were:
James Hack, Norma T.
Hudosh, Dr. Jerome Kauf-
man, Gerald Lederer, Marion
Leib, .George Mann and Dr.
Leon H. Warshay. Dr. Lester
Zeff was named
member-emeritus.
The convention also was the
occasion for the dedication of
the Harry and Sarah Laker
Audio-Visual Center at the
ZOA House in Tel Aviv. Irving
and Beverly Laker
represented the Laker family.

At Kfar Silver, ZOA presi-
dent Milton Shapiro and
board chairman Ivan J.
Novick unveiled plaques
acknowledging the establish-
ment of the Sidney and
Lillian Silverman Scholar-
ship Fund and the Judge
Avern Cohn Endowment
Fund to be used for scholar-
ships and the upgrading of
the physical facilities of ZOA's
multi-purpose academic and
educational center near
Ashkelon, Israel.
