Siblani offers as proof the
fact that the majority of Jews
leaving the Soviet Union go
to the United States, not
Israel. "What kind of self-
determination is that?"
What is important, he says,
is that Israel is not facing
reality. "You can't hide your
face behind your finger. Israel
says, Tecognize us! Israel
doesn't need recognition from
the PLO. Israel doesn't need
recognition from the entire
Arab world. Israel is the
fourth strongest world power."
Israel must stop calling for
the PLO to change before
negotiations can begin,
Siblani says. Peace is made
with one's enemies.
"The PLO needs peace. And
peace can only be obtained
through negotiation or if one
person destroys the other. Can
the Arabs do it to the Jews?
No, and they don't want to.
Can the Jews kill all the
Arabs? It's impossible, and
they don't want to?' ■
