IPO Violinist Will Discuss
Plight Of Soviet Refuseniks

Anna Rosnovski, a solo
violinist with the Israel
Philharmonic Orchestra and
an activist on behalf of Soviet
Jewry, will speak at Aug. 19
services at Temple Israel and
Aug. 20 at Congregation Beth
Shalom.
The Greater Detroit
Chapter of Hadassah, which
is co-sponsoring Rosnovski's
presentation here, adopted
the Keiss-Kuna family two
years ago. When a national
Hadassah mission visited
Leningrad last March, Mrs.
Kuna was made a life
member of Hadassah.
Rosnovski, a resident of Tel
Aviv, will describe her efforts
on behalf of refuseniks,
especially her sister, Elena
Keiss-Kuna.

Temple Israel and
Beth Shalom will
be told about the
Keiss-Kuna family.

Elena Keiss Kuna

carried the story of the fami-
ly when Mrs. Kuna was in-
vited to meet with President
Reagan in Moscow, but was
denied the right to board the
train in Leningrad.
Over the past several years,
Rosnovski has demonstrated
on behalf of her sister and
spoke of the family's plight in
cities throughout the world,
including London and Ibkyo.
Secretary of State George
Shultz and President Reagan
also have expressed interest
in the case.
Temple Israel is inviting
prospective members to at-

tend Rosnovski's presenta-
tion. Following the service,
temple clergy and leadership
will greet the prospective
members.

New "frustees

The Troy Jewish Congrega-
tion recently elected two new
trustees at its 1988 annual
meeting.
Serving three-year terms
will be Stephen Shucard of
Southfield and Cindy Silver-
man of Madison Heights.
