Summer Fun
At The Center

The Community Network
for Jewish Singles of the
Jewish Community Center
will host a Summer Celebra-
tion on Sunday at 1 p.m. at
the Maple/Drake Jewish
Community Center, at Camp
Ruth II.
Barbecue lunch, swimming,
volleyball entertainment and
additional activities are in-

Potluck Dinner
At Aldingbrooke

Reservations are being
taken for the Shabbat potluck
dinner hosted by the Com-

club house.

bringing a vegetarian dish.

Social Group
For Singles

The Social Singles of the
Jewish Community Center is
a newly formed group of men
and women from 40 to 55
years old. The goal of this
group is to provide social and
cultural events for singles age
40-55.

New York (JTA) — A total of
1,698 Jews were permitted to
emigrate from the Soviet
Union in July, the National
Conference on Soviet Jewry
reported Monday.
Absorption
Israel's
Ministry put the number at
1,592 emigres. In either case,
the numbers represent the
highest single-month emigra-
tion total since June 1980.
Of those Jews leaving the
Soviet Union in July, only
133, or 8 percent, immigrated
to Israel.

Gains Members

New York (JTA) — Two new
organizations have joined the
Conference of Presidents of
Major American Jewish
Organizations, bringing the
total number of members to
46, in addition to 10 observer
organizations.
The new members are
WIZO USA, the American
branch of the Women's Inter-
national Zionist Organiza-
tion, and Mercaz, the United
States Zionist action
organization for Conser-
vative/Masorti Judaism.
