At the dedication ceremony of the MDA Bloodmobile gifted to the people of Israel in honor
of Joseph and Sally Handleman by their children, Dr. Robert and Joan Sadoff, Joyce and Hans
Muller and Linda Handleman as well as the grandchildren; Harriet Moss, ARMDI's Ambulance
Director presented Joseph Handleman (on right); Dr. Robert Sadoff; his wife, Joan Sadoff and
their daughter, Sherry Sadoff with the ARMDI coveted Pikuach Nefesh Award in grateful recogni-
tion of their dedication and outstanding generosity in support of Magen David Adorn in Israel.
New York, N.Y.: Dr. Robert and Joan Sadoff of Huntingdon Valley, Pa., Joyce
and Hans Muller of Barcelona, Spain and Linda Handleman of Miami Beach,
Fla. recently presented a specially equipped Bloodmobile to Magen David
Adom, Israel's Emregency Medical, Ambulance, Blood and Disaster Ser-
vice in honort of their parents, Joseph and Sally Handleman. Joseph
Handleman served for many years as National President and then as Na-
tional Chairman of American Red Magen David for Israel (ARMDI). Through
Mr. Handleman's guidance and dedicated involvement, he was instrumen-
tal in bringing to fruition the new MDA Blood Service Center in Ramat Gan.
In addition, Mr. Handleman presented Magen David Adom with the magnifi-
cent Gift of Nathan Rapoport's "Brotherhood of Man" which stands in front
of the Blood Center.
At the ceremony Mrs. Moss praised the Sadoff/Muller/Handleman families
for their outstanding contribution in support of the gallant people of Israel.
She further stated, "This MDA Bloodmobile has a two-fold meaning. While
you are honoring your parents, two fine noble humanitarians, at the same
time, this vehicle of mercy will carry the most precious cargo in the world,
literally life itself — since the blood it will deliver to all the hospitals in Israel
will spell the difference between life and death for so many suffering Israelis."
Dr. Robert Sadoff is National President of the American Red Magen David
for Israel.
American Red Magen David for Israel (ARMDI), sole U.S. support of Magen
David Adom supplies Ambulances, Mobile Intensive Care Ambulances,
Emergency Medical Equipment and funds to Israel. ARMDI National Head-
quarters, 888 Seventh Avenue, New York, N.Y. 10106. 212-757-1627.
