Dilemma of Love and
Intermarriage.
In addition to public lec-
tures, Machon sponsors pre-
holiday awareness programs
such as: Sederama, The
Miracles of Chanukah, Pre-
Purim Special and A
Rediscovery of the "High" in
the High Holidays. Geared for
people with limited back-
ground, these programs are
designed to enhance the
Jewish holiday experience of
those who attend, regardless
of their religious affiliation.
Another facet of the
awareness program is mini-
lectures on real life issues,
such as: The Struggle of the
Jews of Soviet Russia, Love
and Marriage, A Crash
Course in Basic Judaism and
Jewish Apathy: Learn, To
Kick the Habit.
The new learning center
will also serve as a learning
synagogue, a place where the
advanced learner as well as a
beginner will find learning
opportunities. In the future,
Machon will offer amonthly
"Turn Friday Night Into
Shabbos" program as well as
"A Free Crash Course inBasic
Hebrew" and a "Beginner's
Minyan" in conjunction with
the National Jewish Out-
reach Program of New York
City.
