Hyundai Exec
Discriminated?

New York (JTA) — The
eastern regional manager of
Korean-based Hyundai Motor
America has been accused of
a "willful and malicious"
practice of discriminatory
behavior directed against
Jews, women and blacks, ac-
cording to related cases filed
in state and federal courts.
Allegations in a New Jersey
State Superior Court suit by
Susan Ibtley, an employee at
the car company's Cranbury,
N.J., regional office, form the
basis of a second federal suit
in New York.
In both suits, Tetley at-
tributes to regional manager
Ed Gormley references to a
personal "rating system" of
employees and car dealers.
According to the system,
whites are accorded "ones,"
"niggers" "twos" and Jews
"threes."

Canadians Probe
Suspected Nazi

Amsterdam (JTA) — A
delegation from the Canadian
Justice Ministry is due in
Amsterdam next month to
gather evidence on Jacob
Luytjens, a suspected Nazi
war criminal living in
Canada.
It is expected to hear
testimony from about 30
witnesses.
Dutch-born Luytjens, 69, a
former member of the Dutch
Nazi party, was sentenced in
absentia to life imprisonment
by a military tribunal in
Holland in 1948. He fled the
country and lives in Van-
couver, British Columbia.
He cannot 1.:e brought to
Holland to serve his sentence
because its extradition treaty
with Canada does not include
war crimes.

Israel Names
Egyptian Envoy

Jerusalem (JTA) — Israel's
outgoing ambassador to
Egypt, Moshe Sasson, was
honored at a farewell party
given in Cairo by Deputy
Prime Minister Yousouf Wali.
Earlier, Sasson placed a
wreath on the tomb of the late
President Anwar Sadat, co-
signer with Prime Minister
Menachem Begin of the
Israeli-Egyptian peace treaty
of 1979.
Sasson was Israel's second
ambassador to Egypt. The
first was Eliahu Ben-Elissar,
now a Likud member of the
Knesset. Sasson will be
replaced by Professor Shimon
Shamir, founder of the Israeli
Studies Center in Cairo.

COOL SUMMER

Dr. Stanley Levine of the
Levine Chiropractic Clinic was
reviewing recently the public at-
titude regarding such major
health problems as arthritis.
"It seems if we are living in
an age when everything is 'right
now.' Take arthritis for exam-
ple," says Dr. Levine.
"We have
all seen the
TV commer-
cial that
shows a lady
painfully
fumbling
with the
bow on her
dress while
the an-
nouncer
suggests she
DR. LEVINE
should seek temporary relief.
"Mind you, he doesn't sug-
gest cure or permanent correc-
tion, but simply a pill's worth of
partial relief. You'd think there
was something called instant ar-
thritis," says Dr. Levine. •
The good doctor then asks
the question, "What came
before?"
And he illustrates his point.
"I think practically every-
body that now suffers from ar-

thritis once experienced a
twinge of pain in the knee or
a finger that stiffened after a
minor stub or a crick in the
neck.
"That is where arthritis
starts," says Dr. Levine. "and as
far as I'm concerned that is
where it should end. Please
believe me," he added, "there is
no such thing as instant ar-
thritis."
Dr. Levine's point is that an in-
dividual has a 'little bursitis' or
feels 'Creaky' when he or she
gets up some morning. It should
be accepted as nature's warning.
It is at that time that compe-
tent, effective diagnosis and
treatment sould be sought.
"There's no disputing that ar-
thritis is a costly, miserable con-
dition." says Dr. Levine.
"But I wish people wouldn't
simply resign themselves to fac-
ing it. The public must learn to
fight the battle with arthritis
when they can win it."
If the battle is to be won, in
other words, it must be fought
where and when it can be won.
"I don't think you'll find an
arthritic disputing this point,"
says Dr. Levine.
