Brodsky, an employment counselor and free-lance writer, died July 26 at age 52. Born in Detroit, Mrs. Brod- sky was involved in local politics, having served as a precinct delegate, chairman of the Democratic Party in the Second Congressional District and was an active supporter of many local and national politicians. Her interests included travel, folk music and atten- ding marches and rallies for such causes as anti-nuclear, anti-war and in support of the ERA. She leaves a son, Jeffrey E.; a daughter, Sheri; and one grandson. Saul Katz Saul Katz, a pharmacist for 40 years, died July 21. Born in Poland, Mr. Katz lived 68 years in Detroit. He was a World War II veteran. He owned Ardent Drugs on Gratiot in Detroit for 27 years. After he sold his business, he went to work for Cunningham's. He is survived by his wife, Faye; a daughter, Elayne; and two sisters. B. Lampkovitz Bernard Lampkovitz, owner of Imperial Shoes in Windsor for more than 45 years, died July 23 at age 88. Born in Poland, Mr. Lam- pkovitz lived in Windsor for 63 years. He also was a longtime member of Con- gregation Shaar Hashomayim in Windsor, B'nai B'rith and a support of Bar-Ilan University. He leaves a son, Dr. Arthur JEWISH NATIONAL FUND Brussels (JTA) — An inci- dent in Bethlehem July 22 between Israeli soldiers and a Belgian diplomat has turned into an imbroglio. The soldiers claim the diplomat, Roger de Wulf, spat at them. De Wulf, who is the Belgian consul general in east Jerusalem, insisted he did no more than cast a reproachful glance at three armed soldiers guarding a blindflded Palestinian with his hands tied behind his back. The consul general said he had been profoundly shocked by the sight. Israeli newspapers reported that he insulted the soldiers. Belgium's French- and Flemish-language news- papers gave the diplomat's version, as reported by the French news agency Agence France-Presse. Taba Sparks Knesset Feud Jerusalem (JTA) — Partisan recriminations over the handling of the Taba border dispute with Egypt enlivened a session of the Knesset Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee on Monday. Premier Yitzhak Shamir started the uproar by in- timating that the Labor Par- ty had bullied Likud into ac- cepting binding arbitration of the dispute, which now seems likely to uphold Egypt.
