surrounding school districts,
so each child will be prepared
to enter first grade.

VA Hospital
Chapel Opened
Some 25 Jews are confined
to the Battle Creek Veterans
Hospital. On July 10 they
were visited by 32 members of
the Jewish War Veterans'
Michigan department.
The JWVers brought with
them such ritual articles as
Torahs, siddurim, tefillin and
tallitot to dedicate a Jewish
chapel.
The 800 hospital patients
were treated to a glatt kosher
picnic, complete with a six-
piece Dixieland band.

Emanu-EI Offers
'Terrific Tots'
"Terrific Tots," a class for
children age 2, will be offered
by 'Temple Emanu-El Nursery
School in September.
Children do not have to be
toilet-trained. The class is
available one or two mornings
a week.
The purpose of the class is
to give children a comfortable
first experience in school
without their parents.
Limited openings remain for
the shcool's final session of
day camp, beginning Aug. 1.
A regular licensed
kindergarten, along with
nursery, pre-kindergarten,
parent-tot and the "Terrific
Tots" class are all being of-
fered in September. The
kindergarten has both a full-
day and half-day option. Ex-
tended care is available from
7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. Co-
directors are Michaelyn
Silverman and Rena Cohen.
