Ailing Refusenik
Flown To U.S.

New York (JTA) — Nine-
year refusenik Benjamin
Charny of Moscow, who is ail-
ing with cancer, arrived in
Boston on board a jet owned
by industrialist Armand
Hammer.
There he was reunited with
his brother, Leon, and his
daughter, Anna Blank, as an
entourage of political per-
sonalities looked on at
Boston's Logan Airport.
Among those greeting Char-
ny and his wife, Yadwiga, last
week were Kitty Dukakis and
Senators Edward Kennedy
and John Kerry, both
Massachusetts Democrats.

Charges Unfair'

Vienna (JTA) — Tuviah
Freidman, director of the
Nazi war crimes documenta-
tion center in Haifa, said in a
radio interview recently that
charges against Kurt
Waldheim are unfair, and
that the World Jewish Con-
gress should apologize to the
Austrian president for link-
ing him to Nazi atrocities.
