The Michigan Consumers Council has information
available dealing with a variety of subjects. There is no
charge for this literature, and the topics include: Appliance
Service Contracts, Auto Lemon Law, Auto Repair Law,
Cellular Phones, Complaint Referral Guide, Contracts,
Credit Reporting Agencies, Door-To-Door Sales, Employ-
ment Agencies, Generic Drugs, Grocery Shopping, Health
Spas, Home Equity Loans, Home Buyer's Checklist, Home
Furnishings, Home Repair Frauds, How To Complain, In-
surance, Mail-Order Sales, Buying A New Car, Buying A
Used Car, and Toy Safety.
Copies of the above literature and a complete list of in-
formation available can be obtained by writing the
Michigan Consumers Council, 414 Hollister Building, Lan-
sing, MI 48933, or they can be reached by calling
517-373-0947. When requesting by mail, be sure to include
a list of the information wanted along with your name and
address.
If you are interested in a particular consumer issue not
listed in the literature let them know. As the State's clear-
inghouse for consumer information, the council draws from
its own resources as well as those of other State and Federal
Agencies. Chances are they can help locate answers to
almost any question, whether its about the advantages
and disadvantages of buying a home or the different types
of infant car seats.
