firms. Israeli hi-tech com-
panies are a phenomenal
resource and their products,
as well as their research and
development, provide
valuable assets to any corn-
pany interested in
hi-technology.
Hi-technology is the key to
Israel's economic future.
Competition is tough, but
from what I saw, Israeli com-
panies are on track to becom-
ing a force in the world of hi-
tech. Israeli companies will
succeed in the world of hi-tech
business for the same reason
Israel's army always succeeds
on the battlefield. There is no

Amsterdam (JTA) — The old
Jewish cemetery in The
Hague has been renovated, in
preparation for its return to
the Ashkenazi and Portu-
guese congregations of The
Hague, which are its joint
owners.
The first section of the
cemetery was inaugurated
nearly three centuries ago, in
1694. During the 18th and
19th centuries, it was
repeatedly expanded by the
Jewish community, which
bought adjoining land.
By the end of the last cen-
tury, however, rapid develop-
ment near The Hague used
up all the land around the
cemetery, bringing an end to
expansion.
Many well-known Hague
Jews are buried there, includ-
ing painter Josef Israels.
There are no burials taking
place there now.
