CAROLINA HERRERA
made her first personal
appearance in Detroit at
ROZ and SHERM to
introduce her fall fashions.

TICKTON TESTIMONIAL

Temple Beth El's new
rabbi, Daniel Polish, and

his wife, Loretta, greeted
temple members for the
first time during the
cocktail hour at a
testimonial dinner
honoring JASON and
MAMIE TICKTON's
combined 101 years of
musical leadership at the
temple. Jason Tickton, the
temple's organist for 55
years, thanked the guests
and noted the biblical
importance of his and
Mamie's jobs. Quoting King
David, Tickton said,
"Praise God with the pipes
of the organ. Sing to the
Lord. Let the earth sing
out in song." Some of the
people spotted in the crowd
included: SKIPPY and
MARVIN FRENKEL,
JUDITH and JOHN
KAMINS, MARIANNE and
ALAN SCHWARTZ,

Is Honored

Dr. Alfred Gottschalk,
president of the Hebrew
Union College-Jewish In-
stitute of Religion, honored
Rabbi Norman Roman of
Temple Kol Ami and fellow
members of the Yedidim dur-
ing the rabbinic alumni lun-
cheon of the College-Institute.
The Yedidm are rabbis who
support the College-
Institute's Year-in-Israel
Program.

Groups Combine
For A Picnic

B'nai B'rith Einstein Lodge
and Shaarit Haplaytah will
join for a picnic and splash
party on July 10 at noon at
the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Abraham Oliwek, 5180
