SZ Women Join JHA
Friendly Visitor Program

Representatives of Con-
gregation Shaarey Zedek's
sisterhood have been assign-
ed to chair a friendly visitor
volunteer program in con-
junction with the Jewish
Home for Aged's three
facilities.
The Golden Heart Visiting
Committee chairmen are Sue
Birnholz for Borman Hall,
Helene Cherrin for
Fleischman Residence and
Sandra Schechter for Prentis
Manor.
Intent of the Golden Heart
Visiting Committee, spon-
sored by the JHA, is to pro-
vide outreach to elderly
synagogue members or
relatives of members living at
the JHA through periodic
visits.
Also actively participating
in the program are Young
Israel of Greenfield's Jewish
Visiting Service of Greater
Detroit. Anne Cohen and
Bessie Mittelman are the
representatives. Temple Beth
El's sisterhood has expressed
an interest through its presi-

dent, Marlene Goodman.
In order to expand the JHA
Golden Heart Visiting Com-
mittee an organizational
meeting will be held at the
JHA's Borman Hall nursing
home facility, at 10 a.m. on
June 28. Representatives of
all area synagogues and
temples are invited. The JHA
will assist in identifying
residents who may have been
congregational members.
