Moshe Arad, Israel am-
bassador to the United States,
will be the guest speaker at a
tribute dinner on behalf of
State of Israel Bonds honor-
ing Robert J. Mylod, chair-
man, president and CEO of
Michigan National Corp at 6
p.m. Monday at the Hyatt
Regency Dearborn.
Ambassador Arad will pre-
sent to Mylod the State of
Israel's 40th Anniversary
Silver Medal, "in recognition
of his and Michigan Na-
tional's outstanding support
of the Israel Bond program
and his service to the banking
industry and his community."
A cocktail reception held in
advance of the dinner netted
more than $4.25 million in
Israel Bond subscriptions.
Arad joined the Israel
Ministry for Foreign Affairs
as principal assistant to the
director of the department of
international cooperation in
1962. In 1964 he was ap-
pointed to the Ministry of
Justice as spokesman for the
ministry and director of the
minister's office.
In 1968, Arad assumed the
post of press counselor at the
Embassy of Israel in London
and in 1972 he was named to
the Consulate General of
Israel in New York as the
deputy consul general in
charge of political affairs.
Following a brief period in
New York, he was called upon
to head the embassy informa-
tion department, later becom-
ing deputy director general at
the foreign ministry in charge
of information.

Blanchard; U.S. Sens. Carl
Levin and Donald W. Riegle;
and Co-ordinating Chairman
