Born in Poland, Mr. Shetzer was a self-employed, wholesale dry goods salesman. He resided in Boca Raton, Fla., at the time of his death. He was a member of B'nai B'rith. He leaves his wife, Lama; a son, Alan of Chicago, Ill.; two daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Judy) Frankel of West Bloomfield and Mrs. Stanley (Jane) Zukin of Iowa City, Iowa; and seven grand- children. Interment Detroit. Samuel Rosen Samuel N. Rosen, owner of S and R Kitchen Distributing Co., died June 1 at age 69. Born in Detroit, Mr. Rosen was a board member of Con- gregation Beth Achim and worked with the youth groups there. He was a World War II Army veteran. Previously, Mr. Rosen was a licensed builder and owned his kitchen cabinet company for the past 15 years. He is survived by his wife, Mae; a son, Robert; a daughter, Judi; two sisters, Mrs. Gerald (Rebecca) Goldberg and Mrs. Ben (Eva) Bayer of Flint; and one grandchild. Celia Davis Celia B. Davis, a member of Jewish communal organiza- tions, died May 31 in Dallas, Tex., at age 88. Born in Providence, R.I., Mrs. Davis was a member of the Jewish National Fund, a life member of Hadassah, a member of Women's American ORT and Con- gregation B'nai David. She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Irving (Dorothy) Roder of Dallas; two sisters, Mrs. Irene Brownstein of North Miami Beach, Fla., and Mrs. Sophie Sonn of Lauderhill, Fla.; and two grandchildren. Max Yorke Max Yorke, general manager of Grosse Pointe Foods, died May 31 at 81. Born in Russia, Mr. Yorke was a 50-year member of Con- gregation Shaarey Zedek, a member of Suburban Lodge of B'nai B'rith, a member of Hadassah Associates, the Masons, the Crescent Shrine Club and member of the year of the Associated Food Brokers of America. He leaves two sons, Hanley L. and Douglas E. of Boca Raton, Fla.; and four grandchildren. Ida Soskin Ida Arkin Soskin, vice president, officer and director of Arkin Distributing Co. for more than 40 years, died June 7 at age 87. Born in Des Moines, Iowa, Mrs. Soskin was an officer and director of Arkin Distributing for nearly 40 years. She was president of the Junior Hadassah in Des Moines in 1918 and was the first female cashier in the state of Iowa, president of the Home Relief Society in Detroit in 1942, past presi- dent of Hadassah, a member of Temple Israel's sisterhood, a member of Women's American ORT and B'nai B'rith Women. She leaves two daughters, Mrs. Elmer (Hilda) Raskin and Mrs. Gerald (Selma) Tenenbaum; a son, Irwin Arkin; two brothers, Herman Grund and Sam Grund; two sisters, Mrs. Carl (Sarah) Sokolof and Mrs. Meyer (Bessie) Levey; 20 grand- children and seven great-grandchildren. Arab Shoots Yeshivah Student Jerusalem (JTA) — The murder of an 18-year-old yeshivah student by an alleg- ed prostitute in a Jerusalem park June 2 has stunned and grieved the Orthodox community. Eliezer Schlesinger, son of a prominent rabbi, was fatally shot while walking with a friend in Sacher Park short- ly after midnight. His assailant, an under-age Israeli Arab living in western Jerusalem, was apprehended by a private security officer and turned over to police. She is said to have admitted the crime.
