KUMSITZ

A giant birthday party
for ADL and Israel was
a festive celebration

he Michigan Region of the
Anti-Defamation League of B'nai
B'rith marked Israel's 40th
anniversary, Jerusalem Day, and
its own 75th birthday with a Great Israeli
Kumsitz (communal get-together) on May 15
at the Maple/Drake Jewish Community
Center.
Although rain forced a delay as the
program was shifted indoors, hundreds of
persons enjoyed storytelling, balloons, a
huge birthday cake, the Shaarey Zedek
Youth Choir, and danced in the aisles at the
urging of entertainer Craig Taubman.
ADL's kumsitz was co-sponsored by the
Center, the Jewish Experiences For Families
program of the Fresh Air Society, and the
L'Chayim section of The Jewish News. ❑
