Machon L'Torah, The
Jewish Learning Network of
Michigan, in conjunction
with the Jewish Community
Center, will conduct a "Sym-
posium on Intermarriage" on
June 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the
Maple/Drake Jewish Center,
The keynote speaker will be
Rabbi Ephraim Z. Buchwald,
formerly of the Joseph
Shapiro Institute of Jewish
Studies, Lincoln Square
Synagogue, New York. He is
director of the National
Jewish Outreach Program.
Rabbi Buchwald has created
many beginners' services and
programs such as "Turn Fri-
day Night into Shabbos" and
the "Jewish I.Q. Test" which
have been emulated by
Jewish institutions the world
over.
Rabbi Buchwald was or-
dained at the Rabbi Isaac
Elchanan Theological
Seminary of Yeshiva Univer-
sity and holds B.A., B.R.E.
and H.T.D. degrees. He has
been the director of education
at the Lincoln Square
Synagogue in New York since
1973. He was a founding

member of the Student Strug-
gle for Soviet Jewry and has
done a substantial amount of
work in combating Jews for
Jesus and the Hebrew-
Christian missionaries.
Rabbi Buchwald's keynote
address will be followed by
small group discussions and a

JARC Annual Meeting

Barbara Nusbaum has been
named chairman of the an-
nual meeting and election of
officers of the Jewish Associa-
tion for Retarded Citizens to
be held June 23 at Congrega-
tion Beth Abraham Hillel

Tzlil V'Zemer Boys Choir at
its annual dinner to be held
at the Michigan Inn on June

boys age 9-13, comes from
