TIDBITS

PISTON'S FAN

DR. YOSEF OLMERT is a
Piston's fan. He had one
request while he was in
Detroit during a speaking
tour as the Detroit Zionist
Federation's 1988 scholar-
in-residence. He told the
DZF President NORMAN

NAIMARK that he wanted
to meet ISIAH THOMAS
after a game he attended
with DZF Executive
Director KAREN KATZ
and her husband LARRY.
Yossie and Isiah spent more
I than 30 minutes talking
about the Israelis' love of
basketball and Isiah's trip
to Israel.

B'NAI DAVID

r--

The 52nd Annual Donor
Luncheon of the B'nai
David Sisterhood was a
success with a fashion
extravaganza. Sisterhood
President ELEANOR
MANESS, co-president
BLANCHE BRANT and
vice president MIRIAM
FERBER presented awards
of recognition to RABBI
MORTON YOLKUT, TOLA
SCHWARZBERG, CELIA
WILSON and RUTH
TRAISON. The sisterhood
also watched as their
children modeled designs
from EMILIO ROSSI of
New York. Some of the
models were ANNETTE
FERBER, DAWN TAMIR
and JODI ALPERT.

BROADWAY BABY

011

JESSICA GOLDEN
recently had a Havdalah
bat mitzvah service at
Temple Israel. The service
was traditional but the
party was Broadway.
Trolleys took the childen to
Tam O'Shanter Country
Club, which was
transformed into the New
York theater district. The
kids performed Broadway
hits, which they practiced
at the party. Some of the
Broadway singers included:
SETH GOLDEN, JON
LAYNE, BROOKE
SLAVIK, LESLIE ROTH,
DAYNA HORTON, AMY
SCHAVRIEN, JENNIFER
LUTZ, STEVEN HIRSCH,
DAVID PAUL, JEFF WOLF
and SCOTT
SCHNEIDERMAN. Proud

parents were RICHARD
and SHELLY GOLDEN,
with proud grandparents
DR. DONALD and NORMA
GOLDEN and LUCILLE
SHEPERD. Two weeks
before the party the guests
received a clue to the party
— a postcard that said
Jessica Golden had the lead
in "Broadway Baby."
