Rabbinic Intern
Due At Temple
Amy Bigman will serve as
summer intern at Temple
Emanu-El from the beginn-
ing of June through mid-
August. Her responsibilities
will include rabbinic and
teaching duties.
Bigman has completed her
first year of rabbinical school
at Hebrew Union College-
Jewish Institute of Religion
in Jersualem. She will be a
second-year student at HUC-
JIR next year in Cincinnati.
A native of Detroit, Bigman
is a graduate of Andover High
School and the University of
Michigan. She was active in
MSTY, and served as the
chairman of the reform
chavurah in Ann Arbor.
B'nai Moshe
Hosts Concert
Yiddish and Israeli
folksongs, liturgic melodies
and operatic selections will be
presented at Cong. B'nai
Moshe's 28th annual concert
at 8 p.m. Thursday. The con-
cert will feature Cantor
David Lifkowitz of the Park
Avenue Synagogue in New
York and B'nai Moshe Cantor
Louis Klein. The event is
open to the public.
Cantor Lefkowitz, a lyric
tenor, and Cantor Klein, a
baritone, will perform
"Areshet Sefarteinu" and
"V'Av Hu Hoyo Mischavein,"
among others. Dr. Sholom
Kalib will be at the piano.
Rabbi Wine
To Speak
Rabbi Sherwin T. Wine will
describe the philosophy and
programs of the Birmingham
Temple and of Humanistic
Judaism at 8:30 p.m. June 1
in the temple library.
