IDF Apprehends
Infiltrator

Aviv (JTA) — A terrorist
infiltrator from Jordan was
wounded and captured, but
two of his companions
escaped in a brief clash with
Israel Defense Force troops
last week.
The incident, which oc-
curred at the perimeter of
Kibbutz Kfar Ruppin in the
Beit She'an Valley, was the
second infiltration attempt
from Jordan in the past five
months.
Prior to that there had been
a lull in terrorist activity
from Jordan. The IDF high
command expressed con-
fidence that the Jordanian
authorities were continuing
to make every effort to pre-
vent terrorist infiltrations
from Jordanian territory.

U.S. Expands
'Watch List'

Washington (JTA) The
Justice Department has
asked the Immigration and
Naturalization Service (INS)
and the State Department to
place 2,000 former members
of Nazi deaths squads —
known as the Einsatzgrup-
pen — on its "watch list,"
which would bar them from
entering this country.
The department's Office of
Special Investigations (OSI),
which searches for and pros-
ecutes Nazi war criminals liv-
ing in the United States,
announced this development
last week, two months after it
provided the INS with the
names of 9,800 suspected
former concentration camp
guards to include on its watch
list.
Both --lists were compiled
through a newly instituted
database.

Frank Fund
Gets New Head

Amsterdam (JTA) — The
Anne Frank Foundation,
which combats Nazism,
fascism and anti-Semitism,
has a new chairman, Johan
Lammers, a Protestant who is
governor of the new province
of Flevoland and a prominent
member of the Labor Party.
Lammers succeeds Dick
Houwaart, who retired Sun-
day after nearly 12 years as
chairman. Houwaart, who is
Jewish, said on leaving that
there is very little active neo-
Nazism in Holland today and
attributed this, at least in
part, to the information and
educational activities of the
Anne Frank Foundation.
