She leaves a son, Franklin of Hawaii; a daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Judy) Michaels; a sister, Mrs. Dorothy Wuntner of Los Angeles, Calif.; and four grandchildren. Dr. Hirschfeld Former Detroit physician Dr. Alexander H. Hirschfeld died May 18 at age 73. A resident of Mill Valley, Calif., at the time of his death, Dr. Hirschfeld moved to San Francisco, Calif., in 1976, after practicing medicine in Detroit for 40 years. A graduate of the Universi- ty of Michigan Medical School, Dr. Hirschfeld was a life fellow of the American College of Physicians and the American Psychiatric Association. He served on the medical faculties of Wayne State University's medical school, the University of Michigan Medical School at at the University of Califor- nia, San Francisco. He was a U.S. Army captain in World War II. Dr. Hirschfeld is survived by his wife, Marylou; two sons, Robert and Lawrence; two step-children, James and Roxanne; and five grand- children. Mrs. LeVine leaves a son, Fredric; two daughters, Lisa of Ann Arbor and Donna of Chicago; two brothers, Harry Blatt and Bernard Blatt of Florida. Betty Gordon Betty V. Gordon, a member of Temple Emanu-El, died May 20 at age 85. Born in Russia, Mrs. Gor- don attended the Detroit Public Schools and the Detroit Junior College. She was a member of Congrega- tion Shaarey Zedek for more than 40 years, until 1970. Since then she has been a member of Temple Emanu-El. Her past memberships in- clude Hadassah, Order of the Eastern Star, Women's American ORT, Zedakah Club, Music Study Club. For many years she was a volunteer at Sinai Hospital. Mrs. Gordon was known as an accomplished pianist. She leaves a son, Bert; two daughters, Adele Daneman and Mrs. Jason (Cyrille) Goode; a sister, Mrs. Belle Kamin Smelsey; three brothers, Max Feldman of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., Bernard Feldman of Albuquerque, N.M., and William Feldman; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. D. David Schoenbrun New York (JTA) — Veteran journalist David Schoenbrun, who worked for CBS News and was a war correspondent for the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, died May 22 at age 73. Mr. Schoenbrun worked for JTA's Overseas News Agency during World War II, before being recruited by Edward R. Murrow for CBS in 1947. As CBS's chief Paris correspon- dent, Mr. Schoenbrun reported on France for radio and television in the 1950s, leaving CBS in 1964.
