Let's talk about it. DR. RON RICE PSYCHOLOGIST- FAMILY PROBLEM If you are experiencing prob- lems that you find difficult to deal with, you may be feeling angry and frustrated. When some people are upset or angry, they may be able to stop themselves from ex- pressing this anger visibly, such as by breaking dishes, crying or slam- ming doors. It is more difficult to stop being upset and feeling miserable on the inside. One important thing to realize as a first step is that you have a right to your feelings, whether they are happy feelings or painful feelings. There's no need to sup- press them. It is important, however, to express them ap- propriately. Also keep in mind that you can't do anything about your feelings or resolve any prob- lems until you understand what caused them and what can be done about it. This is one way of taking responsibility for your life. It's much too easy for some people to cop out by ignoring their own responsibility and blaming others. A full and open discussion of what is causing the problems is the first step in solving them. If you think we can be of help, "Let's Talk About It" in complete confidence. Rabbi Irwin Groner an- nounced the Siyum HalIbrah Project during Kol Nidre ser- vices last Yom Kippur. A com- mittee of 120 members, led by Irving Laker and Dottie Wagner, has been established to oversee it. "There are many aspects of Jewish life where participa- tion is limited," Rabbi Groner said. "This is a mitzvah that - Rabbi Groner and Rabbi Rosengarten. everyone can be involved in, even the youngest child." Rabbi Groner met with a sofer (scribe) in Israel in December, Rabbi Yitzchak Rosengarten of Bnei Brak, who will do the bulk of the 1,500-hour writing project. Rabbi Joseph Lang of Oak Park will complete the Torah on Nov. 13 at Shaarey Zedek with the help of the congregation. The committee has turned the project into a major educa- tional event for the synagogue.
