ELENA KEISS-KUNA, a
member of our adopted Refusnik
family, became a Life Member of
HADASSAH, when Annette
Meskin, a former Chapter Presi-
dent, visited the family in Len-
ingrad recently.
The family has again been refus-
ed permission to emigrate to Israel.
Mrs. Kuna went on a personal two-
week hunger strike in February
and also participated in a group
hunger strike in March, in order to
bring attention to their plight. Mrs.
Kuna was one of fifty refuseniks in-
vited to meet Secretary of State
George P. Shultz, in Moscow.
Messages sent to the family do
much to boost their morale. The ad-
