Judaism to BBG.
Saturday morning found
the teenagers and their ef-
fervescent advisers up and
eager to greet the new day.
Well, sort of. Those who
might have been a little tired
after late night hours waxing
nostalgic — a number of the
advisers had themselves once
attended BBYO camp — woke
up thanks in no small part to
the instant (yes, instant) cof-
fee in the dining hall and a
morning program on plann-
ing the perfect chapter
meeting.
For the program, BBYOers
were asked to present an ex-
ample of an outstanding
chapter meeting, with a
special emphasis on recruit-
ment. The youth presented
their meetings with
characteristic teenage
aplomb (some of the par-
ticipants discussed their "hot
dates") and with more than a
modicum of seriousness, pro-
posing ways in which Jewish
teenagers could be brought
into the BBYO fold.
Their minds fully into gear,
the BBYOers were treated to
an afternoon of Karobics, Ken
Levy's own brand of getting
physical, which combines
karate with aerobics.
Definitely not a program for
the confirmed couch potato.
Late Saturday evening the
election process began, with
candidates offering speeches
and platforms that would
challenge (and no doubt out-
do) those presented by their
more formidable counter-
parts, Michael Dukakis and
George Bush.

example,
Eidelman, a candidate for
BBG Council n'siah (presi-
dent) gave a speech which
cited the many hats a n'siah
must wear. Listing creativity,
she donned a beret; for spirit,
she put on a baseball cap; and
for hard work, she placed a
hard hat atop her head.
Education characterized
the day, but it was pure fun
that topped off the evening. A
dance, staged in the
auditorium (that served as
the dining hall during the
day) boasted a USO theme.
The music offered a little
something for everyone, from
the ubiquitious "The Time of
My Life" (from the equally
ubiquitious "Dirty Dancing")
to the ever-popular "Wishing
Well" to "Boogie Woogie
Bugle Boy of Company B,"
and kept the BBYOers danc-
ing through the night.
It was rise and shine at 8
a.m. the last day of the con-
vention — surely a weekend
proposal that would excite
anyone. After stuffing those
curling irons and "Mr. Cool"
