Each month in this space, L'Chayim will print a kosher recipe that the whole family can prepare together. To contribute to the column, type your recipe in a way in which the entire family can participate and send it to L'Chayim, c/o The Jewish News, 20300 Civic Center Dr., Southfield 48076. This month's recipes were contributed by Gerrie Spalter of West Bloomfield (Lemon Bars Deluxe) and by Bea Dashow of Huntington Woods (Noodle Pudding Souffle), respectively. ( eggs, beaten; 2 cups granulated sugar; 1/3 cup lemon juice; 1/4 cup all-purpose flour; 1/2 tsp. baking powder. Let one of the younger children sift together the 2 cups flour and the confectioners sugar. Let an older child cut in butter or margarine until mixture clings together. Mom can press the dough into a 13x9x2 inch pan and bake the crust at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned. Dad can beat together the eggs, granulated sugar and lemon juice. One of the kids can sift together the 1/4 cup flour and baking powder. Another child can stir these into the egg mixture. Mom can pour the mixture over the baked crust and return the pan to the oven for 25 minutes more. Dad can sprinkle some extra confectioners sugar on top and Mom can cut into bars. Yield: 30 bars. Noodle Pudding Souffle Recipe Mom can preheat the oven to 375 degrees while the children gather all the ingredients: 3 eggs, separated; 1 /2 cup melted butter; 2 tbsp. sugar; 1 lb. cottage cheese; 1 cup sour cream; 1/2 lb. noodles, cooked; 1/2 cup crushed corn flakes; butter dotted. Let Dad beat the egg yolks while the kids add melted butter and sugar. Mom can fold in the cottage cheese, sour cream and noodles. An older child can beat the egg whites until stiff and fold into the noodle mixture. Mom can pour the whole mixture in a 2 qt. buttered casserole while the kids sprinkle corn flakes on top and dot with butter. Dad can put the pudding into the oven to bake for 45 minutes.
