The Fulmakhts' oldest
daughter, Maria, conducts
classes for refusenik children,
teaching Hebrew and Jewish
culture. They have built a
sukkah in the woods to
celebrate Sukkot and lit
candles on Chanukah. The
authorities have intruded on
the classes more than once
and frightened the children.
In June 1984, Fulmakht
along with two other refuse-
niks, held an official press
conference in Moscow to
refute Soviet claims that few
Jews wish to leave the Soviet
Union. The Fulmakhts have
been repeatedly plagued with
impromptu and destructive
raids on their home during
which threats of arrest, exile
and false accusations are
issued.
The Fulmakhts were denied
permission to leave in 1981
due to Maya Fulmakht's
"secrecy."

mitavah with Inna Lazutin of
Moscow, USSR, today at Tem-
ple Israel.
Inna is the daughter of
Vladimir and Tatyana
Lazutin. He works in the
fields of plastics and
polygraphs. The Lazutins
have been refused exit visas
since 1980 without any
reasons given. In 1985, the
authorities asked the
Lazutins to bring in their
papers, but nothing
happened.
Both Melissa and Linda
have made attempts to con-
tact Inna but have not been
successful.
