Headaches can be
pain in the neck

BY DR. STANLEY LEVINE, D.C.
Dr. of Chiropractic
NEW YORK (UPI) — To further the theory that many
a chronically recurring headache originates in the neck,
two scientists studied 100 headache-prone children.
They all had recurring headaches of adult type
without apparent cause. The scientists stretched their
necks with gentle traction and produced lasting cures in
97 of them.
Drs. Murray M. Braff and Samuel
Rosner, who have given years to the rid-
dles of headaches, reported these results
to the American Association for the
Study of Headache.
They became interested in children
because so many adult patients traced
their chronic headaches back to
childhood and because children's necks
are subject to hazards unknown to
4
DR. LEVINE
adults.
Children wrestle and their necks get twisted.
Children fall from bicycles and sleds, sometimes on the
neck. Children can get hit on the neck with baseball bats
and other sticks.
Pain and stiffness in the neck disappears in a day or
two and the injury is forgotten. But that slight injury can
be permanent and flower periodically into headaches, ac-
cording to theory.
For the past 75 years chiropractors have been PROV-

ING over and over again . . . with MILLIONS OF patients
. . . that vertebrae out of place in the spine (misaligned)
can cause headaches.
