For Professor
Mark L. Kahn, professor
emeritus (economics) at
Wayne State University and
a professional arbitrator of
labor disputes, was one of 34
invited labor attorneys, in-
dustrial relations professors
and labor dispute resolvers
who headed for the USSR,
Sweden, France and England
last week.
The group, traveling under
the auspices of the Citizen
Ambassador Program, met
with professional counter-
parts in Moscow, Leningrad,
Stockholm, Paris and London.
Members of the project plan
to "examine, compare and
contrast the distinctive
features of the dispute resolu-
tion processes in each coun-
try," with a focus on the roles
of mediation, conciliation and
arbitration.
Dr. Kahn taught labor
economics and industrial
relations at Wayne State
University from 1949 to 1985,
and served as chairman of the
department of economics
from 1961 to 1968.
