SPRING

Forest, on the hills above
Tiberias, is planted on land
designated for afforestation
by the British Mandate and
not, as claimed in a Swiss
newspaper, on the land of six
Arab villages.
That the Queen Beatrix of
the Netherlands Forest also
was planted on land reserved
for trees. Dutch television had
questioned the queen's visit
to Israel two years ago on the
grounds that the area of the
forest belonged to a local
Arab village. The headman of
that village, in fact, attended
the forest dedication
ceremony and personally pre-
sented a gift to the queen.

Rabbi Leaves
East Germany

Bonn (JTA) — Rabbi Isaac
Neuman, the retired Ameri-
can rabbi who came to East
Berlin to serve as spiritual
leader of East Germany's tiny
Jewish community, quit last
week after eight months in
his post. Neuman expressed
frustration and anger, Char-
ing that the country's con-
trolled news media was dis-
playing anti-Semitic tenden-
cies and using "Nazi
vocabulary" to denounce
Israel's behavior toward the
Palestinians:
East German officials
denied Neuman's accusations,
and said that the timing was
particularly embarrassing
since it coincided with the
meeting in Washington bet-
ween Secretary of State
George Shultz and Hermann
Axen, the highest ranking
East German official ever in-
vited to the United States.
The East Germans regard
that meeting as an important
step in their recent efforts to
improve relations with the
United States.
Within hours after Neuman
went on the air in West Berlin
to denounce anti-Semitism in
East Germany, Jewish com-
munity officials in East
Germany issued statements
of their own denying his
charges.

Personal/Family Problems

?

Let's talk
about it.

DR. RON RICE

PSYCHOLOGIST-

SYMPTOM OF ANXIETY ATTACK

If you should have an attack
of anxiety, among the more
common symptoms are feelings
of apprehension and tension and
the inability to concentrate or
think clearly. You may also have
problems in sleeping. Sometimes
a person afflicted with anxiety
will have frightening dreams that
produce fear and physical symp-
toms such as a pounding heart,
sweating palms, trembling, or di-
arrhea. Some people oppressed
with feelings of anxiety find it
hard to breathe. Symptoms of
anxiety may make you feel as if
you have heart trouble or some
other illness. In reality, you may
be in good health physically, but
emotional problems are causing
the symptoms. Continual anxi-

ety may eventually cause real
physical problems as well.
Anxiety attacks can be caused
by a specific stress or by a com-
bination of past and present
stresses. Sometimes, just finding
the source of the stress can
greatly reduce the anxiety. A
qualified counselor can help
isolate the source of anxiety and
suggest ways of reducing it.
